August 2020 — Every year the National Button Society hosts an annual conference and show.  This year’s show was to be in Springfield, IL. The purpose of the event is to provide educational opportunities to learn more about buttons, to meet like minded collectors, compete in the annual button tray competition, listen to guest speakers and purchase buttons from dealers.

This year marks the first time in over 70 years, that a conference didn’t happen.  In 1945 it was due to the war effort and this year of course, COVID19.

To make up for the lack of a show, NBS decided to have two of the planned guest speakers make their presentation as a webinar. The NBS No Show hosted two live sessions that  are now on YouTube. Here are the links to the recordings:

Barbara Weeks- A Beginners Guide to Aluminum

Matthew Brown- Got Milk?
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

The best thing about these recordings is that the only way you could hear this type of content in the past was only if you attended the conference.  These two recordings are available to anyone that cares to listen – helping to spread the word about this interesting hobby.
