Linda Hickey, our Judging Chairperson spent most of Friday, confirming who would be judging and clerking and we were ready for a busy morning!
Linda kicked things off early Saturday morning in the judging room. Dale Doty and Karen Hise conducted the final tray check-in from 8:00-8:30 AM. Then the judges and clerks filed in so we could begin the judging at 9:00 AM sharp! Thank goodness for our volunteer judges and clerks! We couldn’t have a show without them (or Linda – creating all the judging sheets, bringing all the resources and supplies, and coordinating every aspect of the judging process).
Judging wrapped up just before 1 PM and the trays were hung in the showroom by 1:30 PM. Meanwhile, the Dealers were back in the showroom by 11 AM so visitors could shop.
Saturday evening, guest speaker Richard Price, a collector of military buttons gave an in-depth talk about how he created a system to better describe and differentiate the many face die variations of the General Staff Button. The crowd was impressed with Richard’s level of detail and his passion for the topic.
We capped off the evening with some cake and coffee.
