Button Collectors across New York State descended at the DoubleTree Inn in Binghamton, April 28-30 for the New York State Button Show and Awards. The theme of the show was “Through the Looking Glass”.
Events included button dealers from across the nation selling buttons, a display of buttons representing the show theme, a button auction, judging of the competitive button trays, and a guest presentation by Sharon Braund and Carolyn Webb where they shared stories about their travels together in search of buttons and shared some of their favorite buttons and button cards.
On Sunday morning we had the member’s breakfast buffet and general meeting where competitive tray awards were announced. No nominations came from the floor for President, 1st and 2nd VP, so the three interim leaders, Beverly Hesse, Kathy Arbogast, and Elaine Baur agreed to another interim 1-year term in these positions while they search for replacements. Jai Blackburn was elected as Secretary and Jen Read was appointed as Show Chairperson. The gift of a button representing the show theme was handed out.
After breakfast, the Showroom re-opened for a final time, and we held the raffle. Thanks to everyone who attended this fun show.
