On Saturday, for the second time, we held off opening the showroom until 11:00 AM so members could focus on helping in the judging room. This strategy again worked well. Judging was complete, and trays were hung in the showroom by 1:30 PM. This allowed ample time for people to peruse the various trays and see the talent in understanding the blue book and the stunning selection of buttons chosen for each tray.
On Saturday evening, we had a dynamic duo as our guest speakers – Art Baur and Gretchen Gauthier. They gave a talk entitled, “MOONLIGHTING – The Moon Through Buttons, Facts and Fiction.” Art delivered part 1 of the presentation by illuminating the moon with fascinating facts and anecdotes. Gretchen presented a slide-show parade of fabulous moon and star buttons. Following the presentation, attendees could check out some of the buttons from the presentation in person. We capped off the evening with some cake and fruit punch.
